Press Release Body = Generation "Why?": Behaving Badly:
Generation Y, Globalisation and the G-20 Forum

For Immediate Release
13 October 2006, 20.00, Sydney

Next month, the world\'s leading finance ministers and central bank governors,
representing around two-thirds of the world\'s population and 85% of world GDP, will
arrive in Melbourne for the G-20 forum.

They will be met by hundreds (possibly thousands) of young people, protesting
globalisation. The globalization protests will involve people from different walks
of life. Some globalisation protesters will be university students, members of
left-wing political groups (such as the \'Stop G-20\' and \'Stop G-8\' groups), others
will be suited, young men and women who hold corporate jobs, but who are driven to
protest a concept that they feel is eroding many people\'s way of life.

Anders Sorman-Nilsson, the founder of Thinque, a coaching and corporate training
company, says that the very need that drives these young people to stand up and
protest the G-20 forum and globalisation, is the same need that will make Generation
Y successful in a changing globalised economy.

"There is an inherent irony in Generation Why? behaviours. On one hand they are the
most medicated generation in history, on the other hand they are very focused on
personal development, evolution and happiness. They are also more externally focused
and world aware (through the internet) than any other previous generation, while at
the same time obsessed with the search for personal meaning.

Constant change is a way of life for them, yet many strive for traditional family
values. They question the sobriety in job or industry loyalty, while at the same
time seeking coaching, feed-back, and competent leadership for their own progress.
It is almost like they play Devil\'s Advocate with themselves. This flexibility of
perceptual positions gives them a huge advantage in their analytical, communication
and investigative competencies," Mr Sorman-Nilsson says.

The report "Paradigm Shift - Generation Y, Devil\'s Advocates and Globalisation",
available for download on the www.thinque.com.au website, outlines how, to survive
and flourish in the changing global economy, a new set of life skills is mandatory.
These skills include the ability to adapt, learn, empathise and imagine. It goes on
to say that we are no longer competing just within our own country, but on a global
level and poses important questions for individuals and corporations to ask
themselves in an ever-evolving new world.
